Types of Cruises

Ocean Cruises

Ocean Cruises

Ocean cruising is the most common "first cruise" for many clients. Itineraries include popular destinations like Alaska, Australia, the Bahamas, Hawaii, and Mexico, as well as bucket list trips like Transatlantic and Panama Canal cruises. Popular ocean cruise lines include Carnival Cruise Line, Celebrity Cruises, Disney Cruise Line, MSC Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, and Virgin Voyages.

River Cruises

River Cruises

River cruising is a great way to see multiple destinations without having to move luggage at every new city. This is one of the most popular ways that our clients explore Europe. Although many people think of river cruising as an adult activity, these itineraries are exceptionally popular for young families looking to explore new places with ease! River itineraries include the Danube, Rhine, Seine, Ganges, Yangtze, Nile, Amazon, Mississippi, Hudson, Snake Rivers, and more.

Yacht & Luxury Cruises

Yacht & Luxury Cruises

Clients who want a truly elevated experience may opt for luxury cruise lines or private/shared yacht experiences.

Expedition Cruises

Expedition Cruises

While many cruisers sail for the experience onboard, others prefer expedition cruises that focus on the shoreside experiences, such as the Galapagos Islands and Antarctica.

Specialty Cruises

Specialty Cruises

Cruises sometimes offer special sailings focused on pop culture, music, food, sports, crafts, hobbies, and other special interests. These can also be planned as a group, if you have your own special interest group that wants to cruise together.

Cruise Itineraries

Eastern Caribbean

Eastern Caribbean

Anguilla, Antigua, Bahamas, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Guadeloupe, Martinique, St. Barts, St. John, St. Kitts, St. Maarten, St. Thomas, Puerto Rico, Tortola, Turks and Caicos, and more

Western Caribbean

Western Caribbean

Belize, Grand Cayman, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, and more

Southern Caribbean

Southern Caribbean

Aruba, Barbados, Bonaire, Curaçao, Grenada, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, and more

Bahamas

Bahamas

Bahamas itineraries are typically short cruises (2-4 nights) and often include stops at cruise lines' private islands, such as Disney Cruise Line's Castaway Cay or Royal Caribbean Cruise Line's Perfect Day at CocoCay. These are popular cruises for short school breaks, long weekends, or first timers who are unsure about longer cruises.

Bermuda

Bermuda

Bermuda itineraries are popular with Northern cruises, because they often sail from Baltimore, Bayonne, Boston, and New York, in addition to the typical Florida ports. This can be the perfect way to escape the cold more quickly and economically, without flight costs to more southern ports!

Hawaii

Hawaii

Hawaii sailings are among the most popular itineraries that any cruise line offers. While many sailings may begin or end in Hawaii, there is also one itinerary that sails around the Hawaiian islands exclusively. There is great demand for this itinerary, so we suggest booking early.

Alaska

Alaska

The most popular Alaska cruise itineraries depart from both Seattle and Vancouver and feature iconic natural sightseeing like glaciers and whale watching.

New England & Canada

New England & Canada

Cruising isn't all tropical destinations and endless summers! Many cruisers choose this itinerary for fall foliage sightseeing!

U.S. Rivers

U.S. Rivers

Itineraries include the Mississippi, Illinois, Ohio, Cumberland, Tennessee, Columbia, and Snake Rivers.

Great Lakes

Great Lakes

These itineraries offer a unique way to explore the Great Lakes area. There are even itineraries that include all five of the lakes!

European River

European River

River cruises are a wonderfully accessible way to explore multiple European countries without moving luggage or navigating transportation from place to place. Sail down the Danube, Douro, Main, Moselle, Rhine, Rhone, Saone, and/or Seine Rivers!

Mediterranean

Mediterranean

Visit destinations like Athens, Barcelona, Florence, Ibiza, Majorca, Monaco, Mykonos, Naples, Portofino, Rome, St. Tropez, Santorini, and Venice on these idealistic sailings.

Antarctica

Antarctica

Antarctica sailings are truly the adventure of a lifetime. Cruisers can explore the White Continent with sail-bys on larger cruise ships or closer looks on smaller expedition ships. These are best fit for adults and older children, because of the nature of the activities and services on board.

Transatlantic

Transatlantic

Transatlantic sailings are ideal for cruisers looking for longer sailings with plenty of time to enjoy onboard activities. We typically recommend transatlantic sailings to more experienced cruisers. These itineraries often begin or end in Florida or New York, while others begin or end in South America or Spain.

Panama Canal

Panama Canal

Panama Canal sailings are at the top of many cruisers' bucket lists, because of the unique experience of traveling through the canal's locks. These itineraries are often repositioning cruises, where a cruise line is moving a ship between a Southeast US port to a California port for a season, but are also sometimes closed loop cruises that begin and end at the same port.

World Cruises

World Cruises

These epic, in-demand sailings are exactly what they sound like - the opportunity to see the world from a cruise ship. With itineraries that are often months-long, these sailings are popular with retired adults or young adults taking a gap year. A single sailing may take you to a variety of destinations like Hawaii, Samoa, Australia, Bali, Dubai, Malta, Spain, Greece, and Italy!

Africa

Africa

Cape Town, Cape Verde, Durban, Mombasa, Seychelles, Port Elizabeth, Walvis Bay, Zanzibar, and more

Asia

Asia

Goa, Hong Kong, Lombok, Mumbai, Osaka, Phuket, Saigon, Shanghai, Singapore, Taipei, Tokyo, Yokohama, and more

South America

South America

Amazon River, Buenos Aires, Chilean Fjords, Lima, Montevideo, Rio de Janeiro, Santiago, Sao Paulo, and more

Galapagos

Galapagos

These sailings are incredibly unique and unlike most other cruises, on smaller ships with less frills and 100 passengers or less. Nature takes center stage!

Choosing the Right Cruise For Your Travel Party

With so many options for cruising, there’s the perfect cruise for every person, occasion, and interest!

There are so many reasons that cruising is the perfect vacation for families with young children! The biggest advantage is convenience. It’s a great way to see multiple destinations without having to pack and move each time! Entertainment is often geared at the whole family, so there are tons of opportunities to make memories. Most cruise lines also have super fun youth clubs that your kids will be begging to be dropped off at. That’s what we call a win-win – the kids are having fun and the adults get some alone time to enjoy each other too!

Our Favorite Kid-Friendly Cruise Lines:

  • Disney Cruise Line – Disney is absolutely unparalleled for cruising kids! Their youth clubs are full of fun hands-on activities, unstructured play, gaming, character visits, and more.
  • Carnival Cruise Line – This budget-friendly cruise line has Dr. Seuss’s Cat in the Hat themed activities and character dining to thrill young kids!
  • Royal Caribbean Cruise Line – You’ll never be bored on one of Royal Caribbean’s ships! Their new Icon of the Seas even has a family-friendly neighborhood designed just for you!

Teens can be a tough demographic to impress, especially for family vacations! Cruise lines are great opportunities for tweens and teens to get a taste of freedom and independence, while parents can feel secure that they’re safely onboard. Many cruise lines also offer teen-specific clubs and activities, so they can meet other teens and have a safe place to hang out!

Our Favorite Kid-Friendly Cruise Lines:

  • Disney Cruise Line – Again, Disney knows family vacations and that includes teens! Kids ages 12-14 will love Edge, designed just for them in mind with video games, scavenger hunts, karaoke, and more. Teens ages 14-17 will love the Vibe lounge, a space just for them to hang out and enjoy their friends. Young adults stuck in that in between age of 18-20 will also enjoy activities and events scheduled just for them, as part of the 1820 Society!
  • Norwegian Cruise Line – Norwegian ships feature Entourage, a supervised space designed for teens 13-17. Their ships are also packed full of engaging activities and thrills that are perfect for teens!
  • Celebrity Cruises – This is another win-win, because Celebrity’s ships are so spectacular for adults and also packed with fun for teens. They offer a Camp at Sea program for teens ages 13 to 17 that include video game tournaments,  STEM and culinary classes, and even nightlife-style activities like silent disco parties!

There’s nothing we love more than planning a “first” vacation for our clients. There’s no “one size fits all” for first timers, but we are committed to helping you navigate the unknowns to find the perfect vacation for you!

Popular First Time Cruiser Itineraries:

  • 4-night sailings that give you enough time to explore your ship, see 1-2 ports, and test the waters (literally and figuratively!)
  • Bahamas sailings that include stops at cruise lines’ private islands, which you can’t see any other way but cruising
  • Convenient departure ports in familiar cities for pre- and/or post-stays
  • Smaller ships that are easier to navigate and won’t leave you with a case of FOMO

Cruises are ideal for adult-only vacations, where you want to enjoy cocktails, mixology classes, casinos, fine dining, and exciting stage shows. There are cruise lines that have exclusively adult only sailings and also some lines that just lend themselves well to adult only time!

Our Favorite Adult-Only Cruise Lines:

  • Virgin Voyages – This cruise line is brand new, but has absolutely mastered the adult only cruise for adventurous adults looking for nightlife and lots of fun!
  • Viking Cruises – This iconic cruise line is also adult only on their ocean, river, and expedition sailings. Viking is a great fit for older couples and those looking for a more luxury and relaxation.
